Sending Leave request with rejoin set to False

Hello,

I have built a Zigbee coordinator application using Nordic nRF52840 processor with ZBOSS stack version 3.11.1.0. It was noticed that sometimes, there is a leave request sent by the coordinator with rejoin set to false. Details of the test are provided below.

I came across this bug [ZBS-1755] - ZC sends leave to child ZED if received not-acked TC rejoin response from its address which seems to be fixed in ZBOSS 4.1.4.1. (Link - https://software-dl.ti.com/simplelink/esd/simplelink_lowpower_f3_sdk/latest/exports/docs/third_party/zboss_r23/doxygen/html/zboss_release_notes.html) I would like to understand if this issue could exist in ZBOSS version 3.11.1.0.

In two tests, the following was noticed.

Test 1

Wireshark log - ZigbeeLogTest1

Network key:18:25:45:BB:F2:D0:58:C8:8D:0C:2F:7A:C2:A5:BF:C2 (Reverse Order)

TC Link key: 5A:69:67:42:65:65:41:6C:6C:69:61:6E:63:65:30:39 (Normal Order)

Packet 293056 - ZED sends rejoin request.

Packet 293109 - ZED sends another rejoin request.

Packet 293116 - Coordinator sends rejoin response with status success.

Packet 293119 - Coordinator sends rejoin response with status success.

Packet 293130 - Coordinator sends rejoin response with status success.

Packet 293151 - Coordinator sends Leave request, with rejoin set to False.

Test 2

Wireshark log - ZigbeeLogTest2

Network key:B5:1A:F4:9C:F4:43:D6:26:3C:A6:38:8B:D3:ED:FD:3A (Reverse Order)

TC Link key: 5A:69:67:42:65:65:41:6C:6C:69:61:6E:63:65:30:39 (Normal Order)

Packet 106096 - Coordinator sends rejoin response

Packet 106098 - Coordinator sends rejoin response

Packet 106103 - Coordinator sends Leave request, with rejoin set to False

Please let me know if you need any further details.

Anusha

RE: Sending Leave request with rejoin set to False

Hello DSR IoT Team,

Thank you for your response.

Although the fix you mentioned applies to ZBOSS stack version 4.x, could you please let us know whether the same issue was present in ZBOSS stack v3.11.1.0? This is the version used in the Nordic SDK for our application.

The reason I reached out to you directly is to better understand the behavior of the underlying ZBOSS stack, as Nordic integrates the ZBOSS stack provided by DSR.

I would appreciate any insights you can share.

Regards,

Anusha
